Dr. Kaiser received his B.S. and M.A. degrees from the City University of New York (1964; 1967) and his Ph.D. from the University of Houston (1973). Currently Professor Emeritus of Psychology and former department Chair at the College of Charleston. Adjunct appointment at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical University of South Carolina ( 1981-1989). Taught a wide variety of undergraduate psychology courses including Psychology of Stress, Health Psychology, States of Consciousness, and Positive Psychology. Author of numerous scientific papers and publications in psychology journals. Co-author with David Berndt of the Multiscore Depression Inventory for Children Received grants to study effects of natural disasters from Natural Hazards Center. Former Board Member of the Association of Applied Biofeedback and Psychophysiology. Received Stress Management Education Certification ( 1994). Review work for psychology textbook publishers and relevant journals including Natural Hazards Review. Has given numerous presentations on stress management to community organizations and groups. Holds current memberships in the American Psychological Society and Southeastern Psychological Assn.
