Memberships
Become a Member of The American Institute of Stress
Obtaining credentials from The American Institute of Stress is a designation that sets members a part as stress experts and reflects their commitment to the advancement of innovative and scientifically based stress management protocols. The AIS Seal and credentials inform the public that the certificate holder commands advanced knowledge of the latest stress research and stress management techniques. For physicians and other healthcare practitioners it designates your practice as an advanced treatment center for stress related illnesses.
The credentialing processes outlined below reflect a “grandfathering” period of three years lasting until December 31, 2014, put in place to facilitate a smooth transition to the new requirements and standards.
During this period no education modules are required. However, each applicant may choose to submit a full and complete education module and have their annual dues waived for the first year. To satisfy the education, module you must submit a 10 minute to 1 hour (or longer) web-based (or easily converted) educational program in video, audio or written form covering an aspect of stress management related to your field of specialty. The education module may be targeted toward the public or other healthcare professionals. The module will be posted to our online Learning Center. If the AIS Education Module Committee finds that the module you submit qualifies for CME or CEU credit, author royalties may apply. If your module is geared toward the public, it will be offered through the Learning Center at no charge. Once the module is submitted to this application it becomes the property of AIS.
Once the “grandfathering” period expires, all prospective members will be required to sit for an exam in addition to submitting the required application components.
