Jim graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BS degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Corrections. He began his career with the Charlotte, NC City Police Department and worked as a patrol officer for four years. He then went to work for the NC Department of Corrections as a State Parole Officer. Jim has been interested in the stressors that staff in the criminal justice profession experience in their personal and professional lives. It is his goal to help them understand the stress they are experiencing. Through this education, staff will receive information on the professional services available to help them deal with these issues. The final result will be more productive and safer staff on the job. Personally they will be better individuals for those they have relationships with.
