HR Manager/Safety & Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Erik-ka McCall has over 13 years of experience as a Human Resources and Safety Professional most of that time being spent in the manufacturing industry. In 2018 she earned both her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) through HRCI and her IH-MESH (Industrial Hygiene-Manager of Environmental Safety & Health) through the MESH Program sponsored by the Safety and Health Council of NC, NC State University, and NCDOL. In 2020 she earned certification as a Safety Instructor with the National Safety Council teaching the Attitudinal Defensive Driving (ADD). In 2021 she earned an additional certification with NSC as an instructor for the Alive @25 course along with certification as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, became a member of the American Institute of Stress, and received her QPR Gatekeeper Certificate through the QPR Institute that specializes in suicide prevention and training. In 2022 she became certified as a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor and a Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens Instructor with NSC.
Over the years Erik-ka has taught a variety of safety classes including SafeStart, GHS Hazard Communication, LOTO, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, Fall Prevention & Protection and is certified as a Laser Safety Officer. She has been certified as Mental Health First Aider since 2014, has more than 40 years experience as a public speaker, and is fluent in Spanish.
In addition to working with the Safety & Health Council of NC, she is currently the HR Manager with Get Bats Out based in Carbondale, CO.
Originally from Staten Island, NY, Erik-ka has lived in various locations including Florida and the Dominican Republic but has called North Carolina home for the last 27 years
